As I was thumbing through old recipes, I ran across a recipe for homemade Kahlua. It turns out it’s super easy! If you have extra instant coffee in our kitchen, as we do after camping season, you might as well try out this gem of a cocktail recipe.
3 c sugar1 quart distilled water
5 tbsp instant coffee
Extract: 1 tsp vanilla
Liquor: 3 c vodka (less if preferred)
|Measuring cups, measuring spoons, and medium-sized pot.|
1. Add sugar, distilled water, and instant coffee to pot.
2. Boil until slightly thickened (for about 1 hour).
3. Add the vanilla extract and vodka.
4. Pour into jars. Let cool in a dark place.
