6 Ways to Take Back Your Days


It has been challenging to take care of work and business at home recently. You only have so many hours in the day and getting everything finished along with enjoying the outdoors isn’t easy.

It’s very tempting to let your household chores go by the wayside. It would be nice to have the ability to provide you with more time in the day, but that’s just not the case.

So let’s talk about some solutions to this feeling that you will never have enough time to do everything. We have some time-saving tips to share so that you can take back your day!

1. Stop hitting the snooze button

We’ve all been known to do it now and again. Hitting snooze before you get out of bed puts you behind in your day. There is a reason you decided to wake up at a certain time. If you were getting up earlier than usual, there was likely something you needed to get done!

Take care of business instead of continuing to sleep. You will feel a sense of accomplishment when the day is done.

2. Choose your outfit the night before

This is a no-brainer. Taking a moment to choose your outfit the night before will save you a lot of time in the morning when you are still organizing your thoughts for the day.

Check the weather channel or your smartphone and plan for tomorrow! When you wake up you can operate on autopilot with no struggles (or wasted time) in deciding what is best for the day.

3. Stay away from the watercooler

Gossiping with co-workers takes valuable time out of your workday. Ten minutes spent chatting about something meaningless means less time to take care of your office tasks or break time during which you could complete a personal task.

4. Stop checking your email

Ok, don’t stop checking your inbox completely. Checking it every ten minutes is too often. The only time you should sit by and refresh your inbox constantly is if you’re on a deadline and are awaiting receipt of something urgent.

Try checking for new emails every hour or two. This, of course, depends on the type of job you have. Some individuals need to be on all the time. Cutting back even a little can add up to a few hours each day!

5. Know your finances

You should have known this would come up. Put your bills on autopay! Not needing to go into each account and manually making your payment can save you one to two hours.

Also having your finances in order makes it so that you don’t have to move money around all the time and have no question as to how you would like to pay for different items you need or want to purchase.

6. Cut back TV time

We all love a good tv show binge or movie night, but it can interfere with the rest of your life if you get carried away. And we all get carried away sometimes!

Leaving the tv behind can sound bothersome, but there are many other things you can do in its stead. If you have to run errands, put a positive spin on it–you get to go outside! Fresh air is so healthy for you and rain or shine, nature feeds the soul.

The horrible thing about wasting time is that it can hold you back from reaching your goals. If you can pinpoint where you are wasting the most time and streamline that process, you can free yourself.

This may provide you with time to pursue your passions. You could:

  • Work towards paying off your debt
  • Have fun with your friends and family
  • Learn a new hobby or skill
  • Make more money
  • Create a side hustle
  • Travel more than usual
